Karen Lukose

Karen Lukose

Soprano

Karen is delighted to join the St. Charles Singers for her first season!  Karen grew up in Wheaton, where her love of music began at a very young age, thanks to her mom’s creative piano lessons.  Her interest quickly turned to singing, and she went on to graduate from Valparaiso University, where she studied Music and Theatre.  While there, Karen was an active member and frequent soloist of the Valparaiso University Chorale, as well as a regular performer on the university’s main stage theatre.  Her credits there include As You Like It, The Cradle Will Rock, Dido and Aeneas, The Crucible, and excerpts from The Three Sisters.  Karen was also a member of Soul Purpose, a traveling liturgical drama troupe, and is privileged to return as an Alumni performer from time to time.

Her favorite composers include Schubert, Schumann, and Reynaldo Hahn, as well as Stephen Sondheim and Jason Robert Brown.

When she’s not working or singing, Karen enjoys traveling with her husband, cooking and trying new recipes, and spending time with her friends and family, especially her young nieces.
